22 February 2010Francisco Herrera visits Cafeology and the UK for the first time during Fairtrade Fortnight 2010.

Francisco, the President of the non profit Asoapia Growing Co-operative in Apia, in the Northern hills of Colombia visited Cafeology and the UK for the first time during Fairtrade Fortnight 2010.

Bryan Unkles MD of Cafeology took Francisco on a whistle-stop tour of Cafeology’s customers up and down the UK to enable Francisco to experience for himself the journey the coffee grown and harvested on his farms has made from plant to cup.

Francisco was able to tell Cafeology’s customers at first-hand the impact their purchases of Cafeology coffee makes on the lives of farmers and producers back in Colombia and how Fairtrade has benefitted Colombian producers and growers like himself.

Francisco visited local Cafeology customers such as Christian’s Restaurant and stayed at the Beauchief Hotel, Sheffield College and Maltby Leisure Centre on Rotherham part of the DC Leisure Group.

Francisco then moved on to visit Cafeology customers nationally such as Orchid Pubs & Dining, First ScotRail, Boots PLC, JP Morgan Chase – London, PriceWaterhouseCoopers – London, Southampton Solent University and Leeds City Council.

A very enjoyable trip experienced by all.
